Vintage Rare 44.5cm Angel Skin Coral 3-11mm Bead Necklace Sterling Silver Clasp

  

Vintage Angel Skin Coral graduated beaded necklace. Perfectly c arved cylindrical beads. Dates to between 1970 and 1980. New replacement floral rose box clasp, not sure if sterling silver, no hallmark that I can see, but is rhodium plated, making it allergy free. Round Beads in shape, perfectly clynrical, graduating from 3 to 11mm in diameter.

44.5cm in length, or 17.5 inches. Weight approx 42.2 grams. Over 200 carats gemstone weight. Remember, most necklaces can also be worn as bracelets. This one has two wraps of 20 cm, allowing for the cross-over. Fabulous Condition, for its 40 plus years.

Pleurocorallium elatius comprising of two varieties: the so called Momo, Cerasuolo or Satsuma coral, a bright red, salmon, orange and flesh colour, known in the trade as Angel Skin, Boké or Magai coral, a delicate flesh pink, with different colour intensities, which live at depths of 150 to 300 meters mainly off the coasts of Japan and Taiwan.
